Presentations

As part of our continued outreach to the community, The Option Group will be offering educational sessions for caregivers, seniors, and families on topics that are important to their mental, physical, and social well-being.  Presentations focus on both the problems and benefits of living in later years, as well as tangible information and resources that families can use throughout the continuum of care and stages of aging.  This is a great way to inform your community and empower your members to deal with pressing issues that many face on a day to day basis.  Speakers Panels are also a possibility to obtain a wider view of a specific topic by incorporating other professionals in the related industry.

Virtual Dementia Tours

The Virtual Dementia Tour is a proven method of training designed to build awareness  in individuals who care for those with dementia.  During the Virtual Dementia Tour experience, trained facilitators guide participants through common everyday tasks and exercises while outfitted with devices that alter their senses.  The tour gives the caregiver or family the opportunity to experience for themselves the physical and cognitive challenges those with dementia face.

Cognitive Screenings

The Option Group provides cognitive screenings, specifically the BCAT, Brief Cognitive Assessment Tool, for assessing and working with people who have memory and other cognitive impairments.

Employee Assistance Programs/WorkLife Balance

The Option Group provides support services to Employee Assistance Programs, Human Resource Specialists and WorkLife Balance Programs to help the working caregiver get back to work and not have missed time due to their caregiving role and demands.  We are able to assess and provide a blueprint to the family to create a Care Village to ensure that their loved ones’ needs are met, but allow them respite and a system of care that allows them to attend to their own careers, demands of job, family and own medical needs.  Creating respite opportunities and a support network that allows them to get back to their own lives without the constant burden of the caregiving role.

Caregiver Support Groups

The Option Group is able to provide occasional or regularly scheduled meetings to provide support and information to families to help them navigate the rocky waters of caregiving and care navigation for their loved ones.

Engagement Activities Program

The Option Group provides regular Engagement and Wellness Visits to enhance the client’s experience and afford engagement opportunities to a client to increase quality of life, give caregivers a respite and engage someone with memory impairment through creative experiences, therapies, crafts and activities that are geared to the client’s level of functioning and interests in an effort to avoid isolation, maintain cognitive functioning through well-planned activities and engagement opportunities at all levels.

This is a great gift for a caregiver who needs respite or someone with cognitive impairment or dementia!  Contact our office to discuss gift cards and packages for Engagement Sessions that you can give as a gift.
